Welcome to the Youth Group at First Presbyterian Church (FPC)!
Youth Group is open to all students in grades 6-12, and is a safe place for youth to fellowship together. Activities and discussion topics are chosen with an eye on fun, connecting with each other, and faith formation. Participation is open to all youth of the community, whether your family is part of the FPC membership or not. (We just ask that regular participants register and that all attending provide a parent contact number at each meeting).
Schedule: We meet the first and third Sundays of every month from 6:30-8:00 pm at FPC in the youth room. Most of our meetings consist of the sharing of “Roses and Thorns” (something good and something bad that happened in the last week or so), a reflection or discussion of a timely topic or issue that impacts this age group, a snack, an activity (a planned game in the youth room or in the gym), and open gym time.
Annual Activities: CROP Walk, Pumpkin Party, Christmas Cookie Plate fundraiser, Souper Bowl of Caring, Urban Immersion Service Retreat, Lenten Suppers, and Vacation Bible School.
Adult helpers: We welcome (and in fact need) additional adults to help with larger events and those that occur offsite. Please contact Nicole Johnson or Carmen Lawler if you are interested in getting involved with the FPC Youth Group. [The Session of FPC has determined that to comply with our insurance company coverage, every adult who participates in an activity with our youth must have a background check completed. The paperwork to accomplish this is available through the church office by calling (715)384-2484 and requesting the forms].
Transportation: Some of the activities require transportation from the church property to the activity and back. All drivers must be 25 years of age or older and provide a copy of their driver’s license and proof of insurance to be kept on file in the church office.
Permission Slips: Permission slips will be required for all activities which are not held at our church building.
