FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

where all are welcomed and embraced in the inclusive Love of God

Our Mission Statement

First Presbyterian Church, Marshfield, Wisconsin seeks to welcome all to join us on our journey of faith, denying no one, based upon their particular human condition, participation in the life of the church. We want to be a safe place, a sanctuary where people are accepted, included, and cared for as they are. We will be agents of God’s transforming power, aligning ourselves with the Holy Spirit as we pray, worship, learn, share fellowship and serve together. By attending to the love of Jesus Christ in our midst, we discover a deepening faith that makes a difference in our lives. As a community based on God’s love, we strive to be of service to our neighbors and to the world.

Pastor’s Message

Consider for a moment: How many times have you already used water today? Water is the gift that keeps on giving life, coffee, clean clothes & bodies, rivers, oceans of fun in the sun and so much more. This Sunday, we get to celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism: where water, this primary element of life, will become a visible sign of God’s grace, right before our very eyes. For this one tiny baby and for all of us. Anybody get rained on this week? If you think about it, rain is like a baptism, too. Our Earth Care Sunday will center on God’s gift of water, our dependence upon it, and God’s call for us to take care of it. This Sunday during Discovery Time, everyone will get in on the action. (No umbrellas or wellies needed.) Whether in person at 9:30 AM or on screen, we hope you can be with us, as God’s love rains down.

Looking Ahead:
Mr Rogers and childAPRIL 28th – A CELEBRATION OF MR. ROGERS LIFE & MINISTRY: This year marked the 96th anniversary of the birth of Fred Rogers of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. On April 28th, we will have our own celebration for Mr Rogers’ life and ministry. Please wear a cardigan and sneakers, or wear something that reminds you of the people in your life who have loved you into being. Or wear something especially appropriate to the joyful work we do at FPC. Either way, know that you will make the day special by being here, and by being just who you are.

Pride Poles

Pride Poles

Last year when we installed our yarn wraps to show the LGBTQIA community that we support and affirm them, we hoped to start a movement. Well, the movement continues.

The Rainbow Team has created Pride Poles that will be available for a suggested donation of $5 each. We would like to have people throughout the area display these polls in their yards to show the LGBTQIA community that they are not alone. Pride Poles can be purchased in the church office during business hours.
